I am an abstract, mixed media artist and I create lively, expressive paintings.
My work is inspired by the North Yorkshire area, moors and coast, where I live and feel grounded and happy to be. I focus on delving deeper, below the surface of the land or view..
I am currently moving through my ‘Deep Earth’ project, in which my paintings reflect more than just the seen landscape or seascape. They go into and below the Earth or Sea and respond to all the smells, tastes, textures and the feelings a place imbues.
I work intuitively, responding to the paint and think about all the sensations a place gives me, as well as shapes, lines and texture.
The paintings are an emerging process, each one responding to a place in time, the patterns, land shifts and history.
I believe that there is a connection between the viewer, the art and the artist that makes a unique experience.

Over the years, I have won various awards, including the Yorkshire Television Award at the British Painters Exhibition.
My work is in private collections in the UK, USA and Spain.
